§Why Flat Out Custom
Shortening a stock VW pan by hand means cutting, sectioning, and re-welding the floor to fit a shorter wheelbase — time-consuming, and only as straight as whoever's holding the cutoff wheel. Flat Out Custom pan halves skip that step entirely: they're engineered specifically for a shortened chassis from the start.
Each half is precision-stamped from heavy-gauge steel with high-definition ribbing built in for structural rigidity — the same ribbing pattern the factory pan uses, just laid out for the shorter floor. That means a clean, professional foundation without guessing at where to section a donor pan.
Sold as a pair (left and right halves) for a complete floor, and built for shortened builds — Meyers Manx-style builds, custom rails, and other kit cars on the VW Type 1 platform.
