Four ways a car comes through the door. Most jobs start as one and turn into another once the floor is out.
Chassis work
Pan halves, tunnel repair, shortened and stretched chassis, IRS conversions, torsion housing work. Done on a jig, not on the ground.

How a job starts
No job gets quoted off a photo alone. Here's the order it actually runs in.
Talk it through
Call Brian, or send photos and what you know about the car. Year, model, what's already been done to it, and what you want out of it.
Look at the metal
Rust hides. What looks like one floor section is often a heater channel and a torsion housing too. We scope the real extent before anyone commits.
Scope and quote
You get the work broken out, so you can stage it over time instead of doing all of it at once. The estimator gives you a starting number for chassis work.
Into the bay
Work goes on the jig or the rotisserie and you get photos as it moves. If we find something underneath, you hear about it before we cut.
Pricing, straight
What it costs and how long it takes
- Fabrication and metal work are quoted per job. No job gets quoted off a photo alone. We look at the metal, scope the real extent, and break the work out so you can stage it over time.
- No published lead time for fabrication. It depends on the job and what is already in the bays; ask Brian when you call.
- Chassis work is the one job with published prices. Flat rates run from $2,350 for a 1955–1972 Type 1 pan to $4,050 for a shortened Manx, 356 kit car or dune buggy pan (powder coat optional, $550). Once a chassis build starts it is finished within 30 days; chassis are built in the order received. See the flat-rate scope or price your options in the estimate calculator.
- Want an answer before you commit? A paid consulting session with a journeyman tech is $80 for 30 minutes, $160 for 60 minutes, or from $240 for 90 minutes.
