Body Panels & Sheet Metal

OE-fit body panels for air-cooled VW restoration. Fenders, hoods, doors, and more — straight metal, correct gaps.

VW fenders and repair panels: the 1967 into 1968 line

The most common ordering mistake on Beetle sheet metal is the pre-1968 body. Our rear fenders for 1946-1967 are the wide pre-1968 profile and will not fit a 1968 or later car. The front apron we carry for 1961-1967 is the version without a hood seal channel. Chassis inspection covers split the same way, one part 1956-1965 and another 1966-1979. If you are not certain of the year, run the number through the VW chassis decoder before you buy.

What we make ourselves

A lot of what is here exists nowhere else, because we cut and form it in Orange, California:

  • Tunnel access. A flush-mount weld-in center tunnel access plate for clutch cable work, a bolt-on version that needs no welding and no cutting, and a forward flush tunnel cover kit for Beetle, Ghia, Type 3 and Thing.
  • Repair sections. Contoured tunnel patch panels in three sizes, factory-style weld-in seat belt anchor plates in 14 gauge steel, and lower pan divider repair panels for the Type 3.
  • Conversions. A transaxle tub that clears an early package tray for a Berg five-speed.

Porsche panels are here too

Our 911 and 912 repair panels are catalogued 1965-1973 for the 911 and 1965-1969 for the 912 - see 911 and 912 body panels.

Straight metal, correct gaps

A repair panel is stamped for a car that has not moved. Yours has. We fit and weld this metal every day, and we would rather talk you out of the wrong panel than process the return. Our Beetle floor pan work was published in Hot VWs - read it. For structural work see chassis work or metal work. Parts line (657) 438-7002, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm Pacific.
