The JP-1965-0 is the single centre battery tray that welds into the front trunk floor ahead of the fuel tank, for 1974–1989 Porsche 911, 930 Turbo and 912E. It is a JP Group (Dansk) weld-in steel reproduction, stamped in Denmark to the factory profile.
What is the JP-1965-0?
It is the single centre battery tray that welds into the front trunk floor ahead of the fuel tank. JP Group of Denmark stamps it in steel to the original factory profile, and it is sold in the US under the Dansk name. US shops also list this part as a battery pan, battery shelf — all the same panel.
Does the JP-1965-0 fit my Porsche?
| Years | Models |
|---|---|
| 1974–1989 | Porsche 911 (2.7, 2.7S, 3.0 Carrera, 911SC, Carrera 3.2), 1975–1989 Porsche 911 Turbo / 930, 1976 Porsche 912E |
Supplied in the Dansk primed/galvanised (GRV) finish, ready for seam sealer and paint.
Why this panel fails
Acid and trapped water rot the tray, and once it goes the trunk floor under it follows. Replacing the tray early is far cheaper than replacing the floor.
What this is not
This is not the 1965–1973 arrangement, which uses two separate battery boxes in the front wheel wells.

How is it installed?
This is a weld-in restoration panel. It is cut in and welded by a qualified body shop or an experienced fabricator using standard MIG or spot-welding technique. Trial-fit and clamp before you cut the original out — on a rusty car the surrounding structure has usually moved, and the new panel is your reference for putting it back where the factory had it.
Common questions
Is the JP-1965-0 genuine Porsche or a reproduction?
It is an aftermarket reproduction made by JP Group of Denmark, built to match the factory panel's fit and profile. It is not a genuine Porsche OEM part, and it is priced accordingly.
Does it come primed or painted?
It ships bare or lightly protected depending on the batch, ready for you to prep, seam seal and paint. Plan on your own primer and paint.
Do I need one or two?
One per car unless your repair calls for more.
How do I know it is the right panel for my chassis?
Send us your VIN or model year before you order. We would rather answer a question than process a return on a panel that has already been cut.
