The EMPI 40K Deluxe Kadron Carburetor Kit is a faithful reproduction of the original Brazilian Solex/Brosol sidedraft carburetors that earned the Kadron name a cult following in the air-cooled VW community. Smoother and more streetable than a Weber IDF or HPMX, with the period-correct look restoration enthusiasts and Cal-Look builders love.

Why Choose Kadron Over IDF / HPMX?
Kadron-style carbs are progressive single-barrel sidedrafts — simpler internally than a Weber IDF and easier to tune for street use. They make excellent torque on stock-to-mild 1600cc engines, idle smoothly, and don't require the constant fiddling some Weber owners deal with.
