EMPI/Febi Link Pin Repair Kit — Complete Front End Rebuild (22-3016-0)
The EMPI/Febi Link Pin Repair Kit is the complete front-end refresh package for early Porsche 356, VW Beetle, and Karmann Ghia link-pin chassis. If your car wanders, clunks over bumps, or shows uneven tire wear, the link pins and bushings are almost certainly worn — and replacing them transforms how the car drives. This kit includes everything needed to rebuild all four front pins.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will this fit a 1966 or newer Beetle? No. This kit is for link-pin front ends only; 1966+ cars use a ball-joint front chassis.
- How many corners does the kit rebuild? All four — the kit includes 4 link pins, 4 bushings, and 32 shims to rebuild both sides.
- How do I know my link pins are worn? Common signs include steering wander or vague on-center feel, a clunk or knock over bumps, uneven inner/outer tire wear despite proper alignment, inability to dial in caster/camber, and visible play when shaking the front wheel at the 12/6 position.
Installation
Front beam should be properly aligned and torqued to spec after install. A factory service manual is highly recommended for any 356 owner doing this work. Doing the link pins is also a great time to refresh the king pins (EMPI 22-3015-0).
