Ask an expert

Every time you brake hard, the load wants to spin the driver-side spindle nut loose, and a nut that walks lets the outer bearing float. That is why the left-front is cut with a left-hand thread: this hex nut clamps the outer wheel bearing and holds the brake drum true on a king-and-link-pin beam, tightening against the very rotation that would loosen an ordinary thread.

  • Left-hand thread specific to the driver-side front spindle
  • Retains the outer front wheel bearing and brake drum
  • Hex head for a standard socket, no special tool needed
  • Genuine EMPI to OE spec 111-405-671
  • Sold each, order two for a full front axle

Fitment: Fits the left-front spindle on king-and-link-pin Porsche 356/A/B/C (1950-1965) and VW Type 1 through 07/65. If you are unsure this fits your car, contact us with your year and model before ordering.
