This rail carries the fuel tank and ties the front suspension pan into the body. It rots from the inside where the tank traps moisture against it.

How is it installed?
This is a weld-in restoration panel. It is cut in and welded by a qualified body shop or an experienced fabricator using standard MIG or spot-welding technique. Trial-fit and clamp before you cut the original out — on a rusty car the surrounding structure has usually moved, and the new panel is your reference for putting it back where the factory had it.
