Don't own a welder? Start here. Our weld-in tunnel kits (CH27 and CH28) are the permanent, flush answer to buried clutch cable tubes — but they need a cut and a bead, and not everybody has a MIG in the garage. This kit gets you the same access with a drill and a wrench.

The Washburn's Bolt-On Tunnel Access Plate Kit mounts over the tunnel floor of your VW to give you access to the clutch cable tube without cutting into the pan. Bolt it on once and the next cable swap is a job you can actually do. Fits VW Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3 and Thing across all years.

Which Tunnel Kit Should You Buy?

• No welder, or you want to keep the pan uncut: this kit (CH29, $60).
