A full-diameter billet crank pulley that looks as good as it runs. The CMI Precision Machining 6.75" Billet Crank Pulley Kit is CNC machined in the USA from premium 6061-T651 billet aluminum, with the CMI logo and timing marks engraved directly into the face. The pulley rides on a heat-treated 4140 steel hub with a black zinc finish, fastened with six stainless steel flat-head cap screws, and the back is pre-drilled and tapped to accept CMI's optional Hall-sensor crank trigger wheel for EFI and crank-fire ignition builds.

Vehicle Fitment

• Air-cooled VW Type 1 engines (the upright-fan engine) in Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 1-powered Bus, Thing, Baja Bug, dune buggies and sand rails.
• Not for Type 3 (pancake) or Type 4 engines.
• Sand Seal hub versions are for cases machined for a sand seal; choose Stock hub for a standard case.

Which Pulley Do I Need?

• 6.75" vs 5.25": 6.75" is CMI's full-diameter crank pulley. CMI also makes a 5.25" crank power pulley, which CMI pairs with its 3.25" alt/gen power pulley to maintain adequate cooling fan speed. If you are keeping a standard-size alternator/generator pulley (such as CMI's 4.3"), choose this 6.75".
• 6 vs 12 spokes: purely a styling choice; both share the same pulley material, hub and fasteners. Match the look of CMI's 8- or 12-spoke 4.3" alt/gen pulleys.
• Stock vs Sand Seal hub: Sand Seal only if your crankcase is machined for a sand seal. Sand Seal hubs are offered in black only.
• Going EFI or crank-fire? Add the CMI 6.75" Crank Trigger Wheel Kit (Hall sensor), which bolts to the pre-tapped holes on the back of this pulley.

Installation Notes

• Installs on the crankshaft snout in place of the factory pulley, using your crank pulley bolt and washer. We also stock the CMI Stainless Steel Crank Pulley Bolt & Washer Kit (A07).
• Confirm belt alignment with the alternator/generator pulley; shim the alt/gen pulley as needed.
• Check timing with the engraved marks and a timing light after installation.
• Follow your engine builder's or the factory manual's torque specification for the crank pulley bolt.

FAQ

Will this fit my Type 3 or Type 4 engine?
No. It is made for the air-cooled VW Type 1 engine.

Which hub should I choose?
Stock hub for a standard case; Sand Seal only if your case is machined for a sand seal (black only).

Is the crank trigger wheel included?
No. The pulley is pre-drilled and tapped for it; the CMI 6.75" Crank Trigger Wheel Kit is sold separately.

Is the bolt included?
The kit is the pulley and hub assembly with its six stainless cap screws. A crank pulley bolt is not listed; see CMI kit A07.

Is there a price difference between colors?
No, all 6.75" versions are the same price.
