EMPI 98-2031-B — AFTERMARKET horn, NOT made by Hella. This is EMPI's budget stock-replacement 12-volt horn for air-cooled VWs. It takes the place of OE 111-951-113B, but it is an EMPI part with a black housing and gold-tone bracket, not the silver-grey Hella original.
Horn gone silent or weak? A dead horn is usually just age or corrosion inside the unit, and this is the economical way to get it honking again.

Installation Notes
- Before blaming the old horn, check the basics: a clean ground at the mounting bracket, the horn wire at the connector, and the contact ring / button under the steering wheel. Most "dead horn" complaints are a bad ground.
- Mount the horn so it does not touch the body or apron except at its bracket — contact muffles the note.
- If the tone is raspy or weak after install, turn the adjustment screw in small steps with the horn powered until it sounds clean.
