EMPI 00-9500-0 Wheel Adapters — 5x130 Porsche Wheel on a 4x130 VW Hub, Aluminum, Pair
Short answer: EMPI 00-9500-0 is a pair of 26.15mm aluminum adapters that let you run 5x130 Porsche-pattern wheels (Fuchs-style, 911 Alloy, Torque Star) on a 4x130 VW drum or rotor. The hub side bolts to a 1968–1979 Beetle, Super Beetle, 1967–1974 Ghia or 1966–1973 Type 3; the wheel side has M14x1.5 studs. One pair does two wheels; a car needs two pairs.

Why It Matters
The 4x130 to 5x130 swap is the classic way to put Fuchs-style wheels on a late Beetle without changing drums or rotors. Direction matters: this adapter is wheel 5x130, hub 4x130. Its 1-inch thickness also pushes each wheel out about an inch per side, so check tire clearance in the fenders, especially with wider rears.
Install Notes
- Clean the drum/rotor face; the adapter must sit flat.
- Bolt each adapter to the hub with three M14x1.5 ball-seat bolts (17mm head) plus the conversion stud, per EMPI's distributor instructions.
- Torque the hub bolts to your vehicle's factory wheel-bolt spec before mounting the wheel.
- Mount the wheel with M14x1.5 nuts matching the wheel seat; re-check all torque after 50 miles.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What does EMPI 00-9500-0 do? It lets a 5x130 Porsche-pattern wheel bolt onto a 4x130 VW Beetle, Ghia or Type 3 hub. The wheel side is 5x130 with M14x1.5 studs; the hub side is 4x130.
- How many do I need for a whole car? Two pairs. Each 00-9500-0 is a pair for two wheels.
- What hardware do I need besides the adapters? Three M14x1.5 ball-seat lug bolts per adapter to hold it to the hub (12 for a car) and 20 M14x1.5 wheel nuts that match your wheel's seat. Our KIT-4L-5X130 includes everything.
- How thick are they? 26.15 mm, about 1 inch, per adapter. Your wheels move out by that much.
- Will this fit a 1967 Beetle? No. The 1967 Beetle is 5x205. Use EMPI 00-9499-0 for wide-five cars. (A 1967 Karmann Ghia is 4x130 and does take this adapter.)
- Are you an authorized EMPI dealer? Yes. Washburn's Metal is an authorized EMPI dealer, so this is genuine EMPI hardware shipped from our Orange, California shop.
