King Performance Spark Plug Wire Holders, Set of 4
Loose plug wires on an air-cooled VW end up where you do not want them: rubbing on tin, lying against a hot cylinder head, or tangled in the carburetor linkage. Worn insulation means misfires and wasted spark, and a wire in the linkage can hold a throttle open. The factory wire clips are decades old on most cars and brittle when you do find them. Installation
Work with the engine off and cool. Plan your wire routing first so each lead runs from the distributor cap to its plug without touching the cylinder heads, exhaust or throttle linkage, and without being stretched tight. Snap the wires into the holders and either clip the holders to the fan shroud or let them float between the wires to keep the bundle separated. Check that nothing contacts the linkage through its full travel before starting the engine.
