EMPI Body Side Molding Trim Clips — Nylon with Sealer, 100 Pieces (98-1052-B)

Pull the side trim off a late Beetle and half the old clips turn to dust, and the holes behind them are where the rust starts. EMPI 98-1052-B is a bag of 100 nylon molding clips with an integrated sealer. The clips grip the narrow late-style trim, and the sealer closes off the body hole so water stays out. There are enough in the bag for two cars, or one car and a coffee can of spares.

Installation Notes

• Pop the old clips out of the body and clean the holes. If the holes have rusted, treat them now, because this is your chance.
• Press a new clip into each hole with the sealer against the paint, then line the trim up and tap it on with a rubber mallet or the heel of your hand.
• Work from one end of the molding to the other so it does not bow. Replace any clip that turns in its hole.
