F2 Performance Supply Billet Shift Rod Cover | Early Link-Pin, 1965 & Older VW Beetle

The stamped steel shift rod cover in the tunnel is one of the last un-restored-looking parts in a finished interior. This replaces it. CNC machined from 6061 aluminum, anodized, then machined again so the chamfers around each boss come back to bare metal — a bold contrast finish instead of a flat painted stamping.

It sits right where your carpet ends and your shifter begins, so it is a small part that gets looked at a lot. Stainless button head hardware is included, so it goes straight on.

• How do I know if I need the early or late cover? Early is for link-pin cars, 1965 and older. Late is for ball-joint cars, 1966–1967. If you are unsure which front end your Bug has, contact us before ordering.
• Does this replace the factory cover completely? Yes — it is a direct replacement for the stamped steel cover.
• Is hardware included? Yes, stainless button head hardware ships with it.
• What makes the silver highlights? The part is anodized and then machined, so the chamfered edges return to bare aluminum. The contrast is in the metal rather than painted on.
• Does it change how the shifter works? No. This is the access cover — it is a finish part, not a shifter modification.
