This is the real thing: an OTTO FUCHS forged wheel, made in Germany and imported through the official US distributor. The 16x7 ET23.3 is the front wheel the 1984–1989 Carrera 3.2 and the 16-inch 930 Turbo left the factory on, and the classic step up from 15s for earlier 911s. If you are restoring a G-body or putting the right wheel back on an early car, this is the one to buy instead of a cast copy. Part numbers: FE160701302371S (silver) and FE160701302371B (satin black).

Size: 16x7, ET23.3 = 4-15/16 in backspacing (4.92 in), 5x130

Special order

Most sizes are in US stock and ship in about 5–10 business days once we confirm stock. If your size or finish isn't in US stock, it can be backordered and imported from OTTO FUCHS in Meinerzhagen, Germany, where these wheels are forged — typically 8–10 weeks.

US stock as of Nov 5, 2026 — Silver: in stock · Satin black: in stock

Genuine Fuchs, from the company that made the original

These wheels are made by OTTO FUCHS, the family-owned German forging company founded in 1910 in Meinerzhagen, Germany — the same company that created the original Fuchs wheel for Porsche. The five-spoke forged aluminum wheel debuted on the 1967 Porsche 911S, the first lightweight forged wheel fitted to a production car and about 3 kg (6.6 lb) lighter per corner than the steel wheel it replaced. It became the signature wheel of the classic 911 and 930, and OTTO FUCHS still forges it today.

The Fuchs Evolution (15" and 16") keeps the original design in the original sizes for classic 911s, 912s and 930s. The Fuchs Retro (17" to 20") brings the same look to later Porsches with bigger brakes. Every wheel we sell is new production, forged by OTTO FUCHS in Germany and imported through the official US distributor. Not a replica, and not a used vintage wheel.

Features

  • One-piece forged aluminum, made by OTTO FUCHS in Germany. Forged, not cast, and not a reproduction.
  • Fuchs Evolution: the classic Fuchs design in the original 15- and 16-inch Porsche sizes and offsets for the 1965–1989 911, 912E and 930.
  • Two finishes: Silver (FE160701302371S: silver anodized center with satin black spoke windows and a silver anodized lip) or Satin Black (FE160701302371B: satin black center with a silver anodized lip).
  • Anodized lip on both finishes, so there is no paint or clear coat on the lip to chip.
  • Hub-centric 71.5 mm center bore that locates on the Porsche hub, so the wheel centers on the hub and not on the lug seats. No hub rings needed on a 5x130 Porsche.
  • 5x130 bolt pattern.
  • What's in the box: wheel only. Center cap, lug nuts and valve stem are sold separately; ask and we will quote the right hardware with your wheels.
  • OE-quality fit for the confirmed cars listed under Fitment, at the offset OTTO FUCHS specifies.

Fitment

Porsche Classic lists 7Jx16 ET23.3 for early 911 models. OTTO FUCHS lists 205/55 ZR16 for the G-model front and 225/50 ZR16 as the other size for this width. No spacer is called for on a stock car.

  • Does NOT fit as delivered: 356, 914 (4-cylinder), 924 and air-cooled VW. Different bolt pattern; only with a 5x130 conversion, which Fuchs does not confirm. Call us to check your car.

Aftermarket big brakes, lowered cars and non-stock fender lips change the picture; call us to check your car.

Pairs with: as a front, the Fuchs Evolution 16x8 ET10.6 or Fuchs Evolution 16x9 ET15 rear; as a narrow-body rear, the Fuchs Evolution 16x6 ET36 front.

Offset and backspace, in plain terms

Offset (ET) is the distance in millimeters from the wheel's centerline to the face that bolts to the hub; ET23.3 puts that face 23.3 mm outboard of center. A higher ET pulls the wheel in toward the strut and brake; a lower ET pushes it out toward the fender. Backspace is the same idea measured in inches, from the mounting face to the inner lip: 4-15/16 in (4.92 in) on this wheel. Change either number and the tire moves toward the strut or toward the fender, so match it to your car, not to a forum photo. More in our wheel fitment guide and the wheel book.

Shipping and returns

Each wheel ships in its own box by insured UPS Ground with a signature required. Shipping is calculated per wheel at checkout. Fuchs wheels are not part of the $250 free-shipping offer. Local pickup in Orange, CA is free.

Shipping per 16-inch wheel: California $89, West (AZ, ID, NV, OR, UT, WA) $99, Mid-US $119, East Coast $129, Alaska and Hawaii $249. For Canada, Puerto Rico or APO addresses, call us for a quote.

Special-order wheels can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or wrong. Mounted wheels can't be returned. Call us before ordering if you're unsure of fitment.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What years of Porsche 911 does the Fuchs Evolution 16x7 ET23.3 fit? The Fuchs Evolution 16x7 ET23.3 (FE160701302371S/B) fits Porsche 911 models from 1965 through 1989, including the 911T, 911E, 911S, 911SC, Carrera 3.0, and Carrera 3.2. It also fits the 912E (1976) and the 930 Turbo. It is the front wheel for G-body cars and can be run front and rear on narrow-body 1965–1973 cars.
  • Is the Fuchs Evolution 16x7 ET23.3 the factory front wheel on the Carrera 3.2? Yes — the Fuchs Evolution 16x7 ET23.3 is the factory front wheel on the 1984–1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 and on 16-inch 930 Turbos from 1978–1989. OTTO FUCHS specifies 205/55 ZR16 as the matching tire for the front position on those cars.
  • What tire size fits the Fuchs Evolution 16x7? OTTO FUCHS specifies 205/55 ZR16 for the front position on the Carrera 3.2 and 930 Turbo, and 225/50 ZR16 when the 16x7 is used at the rear on narrow-body 1965–1983 cars. For early cars run all four corners on 16x7, both tire sizes work depending on whether you want staggered sizing front to rear.
  • Does the Fuchs Evolution 16x7 ET23.3 fit the 930 Turbo? Yes — the Fuchs Evolution 16x7 ET23.3 is confirmed for the front of the Porsche 930 Turbo. It is the factory 16-inch front size on 1978–1989 930s. The rear of the 930 Turbo takes a wider wheel, so front and rear are different sizes on that car.
  • What rear wheel pairs with the Fuchs Evolution 16x7 on a Carrera 3.2 or G-body 911? The Fuchs Evolution 16x7 ET23.3 pairs with either the Fuchs Evolution 16x8 ET10.6 or the Fuchs Evolution 16x9 ET15 at the rear. For narrow-body cars run all four corners in the same size, the matching front is the Fuchs Evolution 16x6 ET36.
  • What is the difference between the Fuchs Evolution and the Fuchs Retro? The Fuchs Evolution line covers 15- and 16-inch sizes at the low offsets the classic 1965–1989 911, 912E and 930 were built with. The Fuchs Retro covers 17- to 20-inch sizes at the high offsets needed by later 993, 996, 997, Boxster and Cayman models with larger brakes. Both are forged by OTTO FUCHS in Germany — if your car is a classic air-cooled 911 or 930, the Evolution is the right line; if it is a water-cooled 911 or Boxster, choose the Retro.
