This is the real thing: a one-piece forged OTTO FUCHS wheel, made in Germany and imported through the official US distributor. The Retro 18x8 ET52 puts the classic Fuchs look on a modern-size wheel for the front of a 993 or 996 911 and the front of a 986, 987 or 981 Boxster. If you want the 1970s look without giving up the tire sizes and brakes of a late air-cooled or water-cooled car, this is the wheel. Part numbers: FR180801305271S (silver) and FR180801305271B (satin black).

Size: 18x8, ET52 = 6-9/16 in backspacing (6.55 in), 5x130

Special order

Most sizes are in US stock and ship in about 5–10 business days once we confirm stock. If your size or finish isn't in US stock, it can be backordered and imported from OTTO FUCHS in Meinerzhagen, Germany, where these wheels are forged — typically 8–10 weeks.

US stock as of Nov 5, 2026 — Silver: in stock · Satin black: in stock

Please call (657) 438-7002 to confirm stock and lead time before ordering.

Price is per wheel. A set of four is 4 × the price shown: $6,979.80 for four at $1,744.95 each. This is a front wheel, so most orders are two of these plus two 18x10 rears.

Genuine Fuchs, from the company that made the original

These wheels are made by OTTO FUCHS, the family-owned German forging company founded in 1910 in Meinerzhagen, Germany — the same company that created the original Fuchs wheel for Porsche. The five-spoke forged aluminum wheel debuted on the 1967 Porsche 911S, the first lightweight forged wheel fitted to a production car and about 3 kg (6.6 lb) lighter per corner than the steel wheel it replaced. It became the signature wheel of the classic 911 and 930, and OTTO FUCHS still forges it today.

The Fuchs Evolution (15" and 16") keeps the original design in the original sizes for classic 911s, 912s and 930s. The Fuchs Retro (17" to 20") brings the same look to later Porsches with bigger brakes. Every wheel we sell is new production, forged by OTTO FUCHS in Germany and imported through the official US distributor. Not a replica, and not a used vintage wheel.

Features

  • One-piece forged aluminum, made by OTTO FUCHS in Germany. Forged, not cast, and not a reproduction.
  • Fuchs Retro: the classic Fuchs design in 17- to 20-inch sizes, at the high offsets the water-cooled 911, Boxster and Cayman need.
  • Two finishes: Silver (FR180801305271S: silver anodized center with satin black spoke windows and a silver anodized lip) or Satin Black (FR180801305271B: satin black center with a silver anodized lip).
  • Anodized lip on both finishes, so there is no paint or clear coat on the lip to chip.
  • Hub-centric 71.5 mm center bore that locates on the Porsche hub, so the wheel centers on the hub and not on the lug seats. No hub rings needed on a 5x130 Porsche.
  • 5x130 bolt pattern.
  • What's in the box: wheel only. Center cap, lug bolts and valve stem are sold separately; ask and we will quote the right hardware with your wheels.
  • OE-quality fit for the confirmed cars listed under Fitment, at the offset OTTO FUCHS specifies.

Fitment

This is a front wheel. Tire sizes and spacer notes are the OTTO FUCHS / Porsche Classic figures.

  • CONFIRMED (front): Porsche 911 type 993, 1995–1998. Listed by Porsche Classic for 8Jx18 ET52.
  • CONFIRMED (front): Porsche 911 Carrera type 996, 1999–2005. Tire: 225/40 ZR18. Add a 5 mm spacer if the car has Turbo-spec brakes.
  • CONFIRMED (front): Porsche 911 Turbo type 996, 2001–2005. Minimum 5 mm spacer.
  • CONFIRMED (front): Porsche Boxster type 986, 1997–2004. Minimum 5 mm spacer. OTTO FUCHS approves the Michelin Pilot Super Sport 225/40 ZR18 only on this car.
  • CONFIRMED (front): Porsche Boxster type 987, 2005–2012. Tire: 235/40 ZR18.
  • CONFIRMED (front): Porsche Boxster type 981, 2013–2016. Tire: 235/45 ZR18 with a 5 mm spacer.
  • NOT CONFIRMED: 964 Turbo, 997, Cayman (987c/981c), and GT or RS models with larger brakes. The US distributor's general list names the 964 Turbo and 997, but we have no OTTO FUCHS tire and spacer spec for this size on them. Call us to check your car.
  • Not for: 1965–1989 911, 912, 930 and 914-6. 5x130, but ET52 is far more offset than those cars take; see the 15- and 16-inch Fuchs Evolution wheels instead.
  • Does NOT fit as delivered: 356, 914 (4-cylinder), 924, 944 and air-cooled VW. Different bolt pattern or offset. Call us to check your car.

Spacers listed above are sold separately and need longer lug bolts.

Pairs with: the Fuchs Retro 18x10 ET65 rear.

Not sure what your car needs? Send us your VIN or a photo of the back of your current wheel and we will check fitment before we order. Parts and fitment: (657) 438-7002.

Offset and backspace, in plain terms

Offset (ET) is the distance in millimeters from the wheel's centerline to the face that bolts to the hub; ET52 puts that face 52 mm outboard of center. A higher ET pulls the wheel in toward the strut and brake; a lower ET pushes it out toward the fender. Backspace is the same idea measured in inches, from the mounting face to the inner lip: 6-9/16 in (6.55 in) on this wheel. ET52 tucks the wheel in under the fender, which is why this size suits the later cars and not an early 911. Spacers move the wheel out by their thickness. More in our wheel fitment guide and the wheel book.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What Porsche models does the Fuchs Retro 18x8 ET52 fit? The Fuchs Retro 18x8 ET52 (FR180801305271S/B) is confirmed as a front wheel for the Porsche 911 type 993 (1995–1998), 911 Carrera type 996 (1999–2005), 911 Turbo type 996 (2001–2005), and Boxster types 986 (1997–2004), 987 (2005–2012), and 981 (2013–2016). Some of those applications require a 5 mm spacer — see the fitment section above.
  • Do I need a spacer for the Fuchs Retro 18x8 on a 996 Carrera? A 5 mm spacer is required on the 996 Carrera if the car has Turbo-spec brakes, and is required on the 996 Turbo. Standard-brake 996 Carreras do not need a spacer. All 986 Boxsters need a minimum 5 mm spacer, and all 981 Boxsters need a 5 mm spacer. Spacers require longer lug bolts and are sold separately.
  • What tire size goes on a Fuchs Retro 18x8 ET52? OTTO FUCHS specifies 225/40 ZR18 for the 993 and 996 Carrera front, 235/40 ZR18 for the 987 Boxster front, and 235/45 ZR18 (with 5 mm spacer) for the 981 Boxster front. For the 986 Boxster, OTTO FUCHS approves the Michelin Pilot Super Sport 225/40 ZR18 only.
  • What rear wheel pairs with the Fuchs Retro 18x8 on a 996 or Boxster? The Fuchs Retro 18x8 ET52 pairs with the Fuchs Retro 18x10 ET65 at the rear. Most orders for a full set are two 18x8 fronts plus two 18x10 rears.
  • Will the Fuchs Retro 18x8 fit an early 911 or 930 Turbo? No — the Fuchs Retro 18x8 ET52 is not suitable for the classic 1965–1989 911, 912, or 930. Those cars need the low-offset Fuchs Evolution line in 15- or 16-inch sizes. ET52 is designed to tuck inside the wider fenders and larger brake assemblies of the later 993, 996, and water-cooled Boxster.
  • How much does a Fuchs Retro 18x8 weigh? The Fuchs Retro 18x8 ET52 weighs 18.08 lb per wheel. The load rating is 911 lb per wheel per the US dealer-published figure. Each wheel ships in a 23 x 23 x 13 in box at 24 lb packed.
