What's Included
- Nine black vinyl interior panels for the doors and side walls.
Not Included
- Panel clips (order Vanagon panel clips, OE 251 867 299, separately).
- Door handles, escutcheons, armrests or speaker grilles.
Why It Matters
Original Vanagon door and side panels are pressed fiberboard. Water from leaking window seals and door seals soaks them, so they swell, warp and fall off their clips. Many vans also have panels cut for speakers or damaged by years of use. A full matching set is the quickest way to make the cabin look new, quiet rattles and seal the doors against dust and drafts.
JP Group is a Danish supplier that has specialised in classic Volkswagen and Porsche parts for decades, and EMPI distributes the range in the USA. Their parts are made to match the original design, so they fit without the guesswork that comes with generic replacements.
Installation Notes
- Remove the old panels with a clip removal tool. Note the position of the handles and fittings.
- Fix any window or door seal leaks first, or the new panels will be ruined like the old ones.
- Fit new plastic moisture sheets behind the door panels.
- Test-fit each panel, then press new clips in firmly. Trimming of holes for handles or accessories may be needed.
- Follow the factory workshop manual (Bentley or VW) for your model. If in doubt, have a qualified mechanic fit the part.
