JP Group Brake Line Holder Clip — VW Bus 1968–1979 & Vanagon 1980–1991 (JP-8737-0)
Short answer: JP Group JP-8737-0 is a small spring-steel holder clip that secures the hard steel brake lines to the body and chassis of the 1968–1979 VW Bay Window Bus (including single and double cab pickups) and the 1980–1991 Vanagon. It replaces VW OE 211 611 767 (JP Group ref 8161551200). Sold each — most vans use several.

Why It Matters
Hard brake lines on a Bus or Vanagon run a long way from the master cylinder at the front to the rear wheels, and they are held to the body by small clips. Old clips rust, lose their spring or go missing when lines are replaced. A loose line vibrates against the body, chafes through its coating, and eventually rusts or cracks — a brake failure waiting to happen. Loose lines also rattle and can sag into the path of the suspension or a jack. When you replace brake lines, or if you find a line flapping under the van, fit new clips so every line is held where VW intended.
Installation Notes
- Count the clips on your old lines before ordering; replace any that are rusted, cracked or missing.
- Clean the mounting point and remove rust so the clip seats fully.
- Route the line exactly as the original, with no contact against sharp edges or moving parts.
- Do not kink the brake line when pressing it into the clip; open the clip slightly with a small screwdriver if needed.
- After any brake line work, bleed the brakes and check for leaks.

Does it fit my Vanagon?
Yes, EMPI lists 1980–1991 Vanagon.
