JP Group Brake Master Cylinder, 25.4 mm, Non-ABS — VW EuroVan 1996–2003 (JP-3180-0)
Short answer: JP Group JP-3180-0 is a new 25.4 mm (1-inch) bore brake master cylinder for the VW EuroVan (T4) without ABS. EMPI lists it for 1996–2003 EuroVans with 15-inch wheels. It replaces VW OE 7D0 611 019 A (JP Group 1161102300). ABS-equipped vans use a different master cylinder (7D0 611 019 B). Sold each.
Part numbers: JP-3180-0 · OE 7D0 611 019 A · JP Group 1161102300 · UPC 707924542516.
Fitment
| Years | Vehicle | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1996–2003 | VW EuroVan (T4) without ABS | Per EMPI: "with 15 in wheels, Non ABS" |
| 1996–2003 | VW T4 Transporter / Caravelle / Multivan (ROW), non-ABS | Same OE number |
| 1996–2003 | VW EuroVan with ABS | Does not fit — uses 7D0 611 019 B |
| 1992–1995 | VW EuroVan (early) | Fitment to confirm — not listed by EMPI. Check the number cast on your old unit. |
| 1980–1991 | VW Vanagon | Does not fit — see the Vanagon master cylinder listings |
Almost all US-market EuroVans from 1996 on were equipped with ABS. Check your van before ordering: if there is an ABS pump and modulator near the master cylinder, or the dash has an ABS warning light, this part is not for you.

What's Included
- One brake master cylinder.
Not Included
- Fluid reservoir and cap (re-use yours)
- Reservoir grommets and booster O-ring, unless supplied in the box
- Brake fluid and brake line fittings
Why It Matters
A worn master cylinder leaks past its internal seals. The classic symptom is a pedal that slowly sinks to the floor at a stop, or that feels soft and long even after bleeding. External leaks show up as wet paint and fluid on the brake booster below the master cylinder. On a heavy van like the EuroVan, brake performance has no margin. A failing master cylinder should be replaced, not topped up. Old brake fluid absorbs moisture and corrodes the bore, so a new unit together with a full fluid flush restores a firm, consistent pedal.
Installation Notes
- Confirm that your van has no ABS before you start.
- Bench-bleed the new master cylinder before you install it. This saves a lot of time bleeding at the wheels.
- Protect the paint. Brake fluid strips paint quickly.
- Fit new reservoir grommets and the booster seal, and tighten the line fittings with a flare-nut wrench.
- Bleed the whole system with fresh DOT 4 fluid, following the factory procedure. Test the pedal before driving.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this fit my 1999 EuroVan?
Only if it has no ABS. Most US 1996–2003 EuroVans have ABS and need 7D0 611 019 B instead.
Is this the same as OE 7D0 611 019 A?
Yes. EMPI and JP Group cross-reference JP-3180-0 to VW 7D0 611 019 A.
What bore size is it?
25.4 mm, which is 1 inch.
Does it include the reservoir?
No. Transfer your reservoir and fit new grommets.
Is it new or rebuilt?
New, supplied by JP Group of Denmark through EMPI.
What else do I need?
Reservoir grommets, DOT 4 brake fluid and a flare-nut wrench. Bench-bleed it first.
