What's Included / Not Included
- Included: one black cover cap.
- Not included: bumper bolts or nuts. Order four caps for one bumper.
Why It Matters
The bumper bolts on a late Bay Window Bus and a Vanagon pass through the face of the bumper. Small cover caps snap over the bolt heads to hide them and keep water out of the bolt hole. The originals go brittle in the sun, crack and fall off, leaving bare rusty bolt heads on the bumper face.
Fresh caps are a tiny detail that makes a painted or powder-coated bumper look finished, and they slow rust around the bolts. At this price it makes sense to replace them all whenever the bumpers come off.
Count the caps on your bus before ordering — most bumpers need four.
Installation Notes
- Clean the bolt head and the bumper face around it.
- Line the cap up with the bolt head and press it on firmly by hand until it seats.
- If a cap is loose, check that the correct bolt is fitted; some aftermarket bolts have smaller heads.
- Do not paint over the caps; they are meant to be black.
