What's Included
- One window lift channel.
Not Included
- Rubber channel insert / glass setting tape, regulator, glass.
Why It Matters
The lift channel is a steel U-section that grips the bottom of the door glass. The regulator arm slides in it to move the window up and down. Old channels rust, bend and lose their grip on the glass. Then the glass slips, tilts or comes loose, the window jams and the regulator can be damaged. A new channel is the right fix when the glass has come loose or when you replace the regulator.
JP Group is a Danish supplier that has specialised in classic Volkswagen and Porsche parts for decades, and EMPI distributes the range in the USA. Their parts are made to match the original design, so they fit without the guesswork that comes with generic replacements.
Installation Notes
- Remove the door panel and lower the glass. Separate the regulator arm from the channel and lift the glass out.
- Tap the old channel off the glass with a soft mallet. Clean the glass edge.
- Fit new rubber setting tape in the channel, then press the channel on the glass in the same position as the old one.
- Refit the glass and test the window before you put the panel back.
- Follow the factory workshop manual (Bentley or VW) for your model. If in doubt, have a qualified mechanic fit the part.
