JP Group Rear Spring Plate (Rear Axle Support), Left or Right — Porsche 911 1969–1988 (JP-8760-0)
Short answer: JP Group JP-8760-0 is a rear spring plate — EMPI calls it a rear axle support — for the classic Porsche 911 F- and G-model. It links the rear torsion bar to the trailing arm, fits either side, and replaces Porsche OE 911 333 009 00 (JP Group ref 1650250100). EMPI lists 1969–1988 911s. Sold each; a car uses two.
Fitment
| Years | Vehicle | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1969–1973 | Porsche 911 2.0 / 2.2 / 2.4 (F-model) | Listed by EMPI; early cars originally used a different (non-adjustable) spring plate — confirm before ordering |
| 1974–1977 | Porsche 911 2.7 and Carrera 3.0 | Listed by EMPI, left or right |
| 1978–1983 | Porsche 911SC 3.0 | Listed by EMPI, left or right |
| 1984–1986 | Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 (915 gearbox) | Listed by EMPI, left or right |
| 1976–1988 | Porsche 930 Turbo 3.0 / 3.3 | EMPI fitment mentions turbocharged and 3.3 L; confirm against your car |
| 1987–1989 | Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 with G50 gearbox | Probably does not fit — G50 cars use a different spring plate (911 333 009 06 series) |
| 1989+ | Porsche 964 / 993 | Does not fit — coil-spring rear suspension |
Fitment note: EMPI's data lists 1969–1988 and all engine sizes from 2.0 to 3.3 L. Porsche later issued updated numbers in this family (for example 911 333 009 05 for non-G50 cars). We tag this listing for fitment confirmation; send us your VIN and gearbox type and we will check before you order.

- Rear wheel alignment after installation
Why It Matters
On a classic 911 the rear spring plate carries the whole weight of the rear of the car from the torsion bar to the trailing arm. After forty-plus years they bend from a jacking mistake or a curb strike, corrode at the bolt slots, or wear their bushing bores oval. The signs are a car that sits low on one rear corner, clunks over bumps, tracks crooked, or will not hold a rear alignment. Because ride height and rear camber are set through the spring plate, a damaged one makes a proper corner balance impossible. Replacing it during a torsion bar, bushing or suspension refresh restores geometry and ride height.
Installation Notes
- The torsion bar is preloaded. Unload the spring plate with a proper spring plate tool or jack before removing any bolts; this job can cause serious injury if done wrong.
- Mark the original spring plate and torsion bar position (spline index) before disassembly so you can get back close to the original ride height.
- Fit new spring plate bushings and the spring plate cover at the same time.
- Set ride height, then have a full four-wheel alignment and corner balance done. Use the factory manual for bolt torque.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it fit my 1981 911SC?
Yes. EMPI lists 1969–1988 911s including 3.0 L SC models.
Left or right — how do I tell?
It fits either side. EMPI lists it for rear left and rear right. Order two to do both.
Does it fit my 1988 Carrera with the G50 gearbox?
Probably not. G50 cars use a different spring plate. Check with us before ordering.

Yes. JP Group cross-references JP-8760-0 to Porsche 911 333 009 00.
Is it adjustable?
EMPI does not say. Compare with the photo and your original plate.
What else do I need?
Spring plate bushings, a spring plate cover, a spring plate tool, and an alignment afterwards.
