JP Group Single Fuse Holder with Cover & 8 A Fuse, Black | VW Karmann Ghia, Type 3 & 412 Auxiliary Circuits | AC905600 (JP-8625-0)
Short answer: The JP Group JP-8625-0 is a black, single-position fuse holder with a snap-on cover and an 8 amp torpedo-style fuse. VW used it for add-on circuits such as a radio, a Hella auxiliary unit or extra lights. EMPI lists the Karmann Ghia 1955–1974, the Type 3 Fastback 1966–1973 and the 412 1973–1974. Ref AC905600, JP Group 8199300602.
Fitment
| Years | Vehicle | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1955–1974 | VW Karmann Ghia | Auxiliary circuit, per EMPI |
| 1966–1973 | VW Type 3 Fastback | Auxiliary unit (Hella), per EMPI |
| 1973–1974 | VW 412 (Type 4) | Auxiliary unit (Hella), per EMPI |
| 1950–1979 | VW Beetle & Bus | Not on the EMPI list; works on any 6 V or 12 V add-on circuit that uses torpedo fuses |
| Any | Main fuse box — does not replace | This is a single inline holder, not the 10- or 12-position box |
EMPI's fitment list for this part is cut off on its website after the Karmann Ghia line. The holder is a universal inline style, so it will work on other air-cooled VWs that use ceramic or plastic torpedo fuses.

Why It Matters
Any accessory you add to an air-cooled VW, such as a radio, a fan, fog lights or a gauge light, should have its own fuse. Without one, a short in that wire can melt the harness or start a fire. The factory and Hella used a small single-fuse holder like this one to protect add-on circuits.
Old holders crack and their spring contacts corrode, which causes poor contact and intermittent faults. A new holder with a cover keeps out water and dirt.
Installation Notes
- Disconnect the battery before you cut into any circuit.
- Fit the holder in the power feed as close to the power source as you can.
- Use the correct wire gauge and good crimp terminals.
- Use an 8 A fuse only if the circuit is rated for it. Use a smaller fuse for low-draw items.
- Mount the holder where it cannot rub or get wet, and fit the cover.
- We do not publish torque values here; use the factory workshop manual (Bentley) for your vehicle.
