What's Included
- One right rear sliding door striker plate.
Not Included
- Mounting screws, front striker, or B-post lock striker.
Why It Matters
The rear striker holds the back edge of the sliding door shut against the body. When it wears, the door rattles, sits out of line with the body, lets in wind noise and water, and can be hard to open or close. A worn striker also wears the latch on the door. A new striker plate brings back a firm, quiet close.
JP Group is a Danish supplier that has specialised in classic Volkswagen and Porsche parts for decades, and EMPI distributes the range in the USA. Their parts are made to match the original design, so they fit without the guesswork that comes with generic replacements.
Installation Notes
- Mark the position of the old striker on the body with a pencil or tape before removing it.
- Remove the screws and the old plate; clean the area and treat any rust.
- Fit the new plate in the marked position and snug the screws.
- Close the door gently and check alignment. Adjust the striker in small steps until the door closes flush and latches without slamming.
- Follow the factory workshop manual (Bentley or VW) for your model. If in doubt, have a qualified mechanic fit the part.
