What's Included
- One tail light assembly.
Not Included
- Bulbs, lamp-to-body seal or mounting nuts and washers.
Why It Matters
The big 1972–79 Bus tail lights carry the brake, tail and turn signals. Old housings crack, the bulb sockets corrode, and faded lenses make the brake light hard to see. Corroded sockets also cause flickering lights and fast hazard flashing. A new complete assembly fixes the lens, the reflector and the sockets in one go and makes the bus safer in traffic.
JP Group is a Danish supplier that has specialised in classic Volkswagen and Porsche parts for decades, and EMPI distributes the range in the USA. Their parts are made to match the original design, so they fit without the guesswork that comes with generic replacements.
Installation Notes
- Remove the lens screws and the bulbs, then the nuts inside the engine bay that hold the housing.
- Clean the body area and check the ground (earth) connection.
- Fit a new lamp-to-body seal so water and exhaust fumes stay out.
- Fit the new assembly, snug the nuts evenly and fit the bulbs. Test brake, tail and turn signals.
- Follow the factory workshop manual (Bentley or VW) for your model. If in doubt, have a qualified mechanic fit the part.
