What's Included
- One turn signal switch with wiring harness.
Not Included
- Steering wheel, horn ring, flasher relay or column bushing.
Why It Matters
The turn signal switch on a 1966–67 Beetle also works the headlight dimmer and on some cars the headlight flasher. Worn switches stop cancelling, signal on one side only, or lose high beam. The wiring in the column also cracks and shorts with age. A new switch with harness solves the switch and the column wiring at once.
JP Group is a Danish supplier that has specialised in classic Volkswagen and Porsche parts for decades, and EMPI distributes the range in the USA. Their parts are made to match the original design, so they fit without the guesswork that comes with generic replacements.
Installation Notes
- Disconnect the battery. Remove the horn button and steering wheel.
- Note or photograph where each wire goes at the fuse box and connector before removing the old switch.
- Feed the new harness down the column, fit the switch and connect the wires one at a time.
- Refit the wheel with the front wheels straight so the cancelling cam works. Test all signals, high beam and horn.
- Follow the factory workshop manual (Bentley or VW) for your model. If in doubt, have a qualified mechanic fit the part.
