What's Included
- One clear vent window glass
Not Included
- Vent wing frame, pivot and latch
- Glazing rubber (glass-to-frame seal)
- Vent wing seals on the door
Why It Matters
The vent wing glass is the pane thieves break to reach the door handle, and it is also the one that cracks when an old frame is forced open. Original panes are often scratched or chipped at the corners. Because the same glass fits both sides, one part number covers either door.
JP Group is a Danish maker of replacement parts for classic Volkswagens and Porsches, sold under the JP Group, Dansk and Classic names, with EMPI as its US distributor. Washburn's Metal in Orange, California lists each JP part with its VW OE number and JP Group reference so you can check it against your parts book before you order.
Installation Notes
- Remove the vent assembly from the door to change the glass.
- Clean the frame channel completely; old glazing rubber and rust stop the new glass seating.
- Set the glass in new glazing rubber and press it in evenly. Never hammer on the glass.
- Refit the vent and check it closes and latches without binding.
