Why It Matters
The Westfalia fresh water tank has a screw cap at the drain so you can empty and flush it. Old caps crack, lose their seal or get lost when the tank is drained for winter. A leaking cap wastes water and can wet the floor of the camper. A new cap lets you drain the tank, flush it and seal it again with confidence.
JP Group is a Danish supplier that has specialised in classic Volkswagen and Porsche parts for decades, and EMPI distributes the range in the USA. Their parts are made to match the original design, so they fit without the guesswork that comes with generic replacements.
Installation Notes
- Drain the tank and remove the old cap.
- Clean the threads on the tank outlet.
- Screw on the new cap by hand until snug. Do not over-tighten plastic threads.
- Fill the tank and check for drips.
- Follow the factory workshop manual (Bentley or VW) for your model. If in doubt, have a qualified mechanic fit the part.
