Short answer: The JP Group JP-8621-0 is a pair of polished stainless steel wind deflectors (spoilers) that clip onto the front wiper arms. They press the blade onto the glass at speed. EMPI lists them for the Porsche 356, 356A, 356B and 356C (1950–1965), the 1971–1980 VW Super Beetle and the 1973–1974 Thing. JP Group ref. 8198350210. Set of 2.

These deflectors clip onto the flat section of the wiper arm. EMPI's fitment list is cut off on its website, so other cars with a similar arm may also take them. Check that your arm is the flat, narrow style.

What's Included
- Two polished stainless wiper arm wind deflectors.
Not Included
- Wiper arms
- Wiper blades
- Wiper motor or linkage
Why It Matters
At highway speed the air flowing up the windshield lifts the wiper blade off the glass. The blade chatters, leaves streaks or misses the area in front of the driver. A wind deflector on the arm turns that airflow into downforce and keeps the blade on the glass.
Deflectors were a common period accessory on 356s and are a popular finishing touch on restorations. Polished stainless matches chrome or silver arms and will not rust.
Installation Notes
- Clean the wiper arm where the deflector sits.
- Clip or slide the deflector onto the flat part of the arm, with the curved face toward the oncoming air.
- Make sure it does not touch the glass or the other arm when parked.
- Run the wipers on the slowest speed first to check clearance through the full sweep.
- Do not over-bend the clips. Bending them too far can mark the arm finish.
- We do not publish torque values here; use the factory workshop manual (Bentley) for your vehicle.
