Secure your EMPI billet alternator or generator pulley with the EMPI Special Nut and Washer Set. Precision-machined to mate perfectly with EMPI billet pulleys (16-9707, 16-9706, 18-1080, and 18-1081), this hardware set provides the correct torque surface and thread engagement to lock your pulley in place—eliminating wobble, belt walk, and premature wear.
Whether you're installing a fresh billet pulley, replacing worn factory hardware, or just keeping a spare set in the toolbox, this OEM-quality nut and washer combination delivers the solid, vibration-free mounting your charging system demands.
Why Choose the EMPI Nut and Washer Set?
- Precision-Machined Threading: Engineered to mate perfectly with EMPI billet pulley threads—no cross-threading, no stripping, no frustration.
- Correct Torque Surface: The machined washer distributes clamping force evenly across the pulley face to prevent loosening and maintain belt alignment.
- Prevents Pulley Walk: A properly torqued nut with the correct washer is the #1 defense against belt misalignment and pulley wobble.
- OEM-Quality Materials: Heat-treated steel construction resists galling, corrosion, and thread deformation under engine bay conditions.
- Direct Replacement: Fits EMPI billet pulleys 16-9707, 16-9706, 18-1080, 18-1081 Only—not compatible with stock cast pulleys.

Installation Tips
- Torque to Spec: A loose pulley nut is the #1 cause of belt walk and wobble. Tighten to EMPI's recommended torque spec and re-check after the first heat cycle.
- Inspect the Washer: Ensure the machined washer sits flat against the pulley face with no debris or burrs—any contamination will prevent proper clamping force.
- Replace When Worn: If the nut threads show galling or the washer is deformed, replace the set. Reusing damaged hardware leads to pulley slippage and belt misalignment.
- Not for Stock Pulleys: This hardware is designed exclusively for EMPI billet pulleys—do not use on factory cast pulleys, as thread pitch and washer diameter will not match.
