The ATE brake wheel cylinder is a top-quality German-brand replacement for a leaking or seized VW drum-brake cylinder. ATE (Continental) is a long-time original-equipment brake supplier to Volkswagen. A new cylinder restores a firm pedal, straight stops and even shoe contact. This listing covers the two cylinders most standard Beetles need: the 22.2mm front cylinder (131 611 057) and the 17.5mm rear cylinder for 1968-and-later cars (113 611 053 B).
