Dansk High-Performance heater boxes, 95-3028-B left and 95-3029-B right, open the exhaust tube to 38mm OD / 35mm ID (1-1/2") against the 29mm stock tube, for VW Type 1 and Type 2 upright engines running EMPI headers 3255, 3256, 7320 or 55-7320 only. Fits 1963–1974 Beetle, 1971–1974 Super Beetle, 1963–1974 Karmann Ghia, 1973–1974 Thing and 1963–1971 upright-engine Bus; 1975–1979 fuel-injected Beetle and Super Beetle are not confirmed.

Why It Matters
The stock VW heater box runs the exhaust through a 29mm tube: fine for a 40hp engine, a real restriction for a built one. Most people with a big-bore engine and a header give up cabin heat entirely; this box is the middle ground.
Be realistic about the trade: the larger tube with no aluminum fins inside means less heat than a stock box. You still get defrost and some cabin heat, which on a street car in winter is a lot better than none.
Installation Notes
- Confirm your header is EMPI 3255, 3256, 7320 or 55-7320 before ordering; these are not a bolt-on for a stock exhaust or for other headers.
- If you are converting to a header, replace both sides so both match the header.
