Why It Matters
Old heater hoses split, collapse or get chewed by rodents. The warm air from the heat exchanger then blows into the engine bay instead of the cabin, and the heater blower has nothing to push.
A new hose is a cheap fix that restores heat. Check the right side at the same time.
JP Group is a Danish maker of replacement parts for classic Volkswagens and Porsches. Its parts are sold under the JP Group, Dansk and Classic names, and EMPI is its US distributor. Washburn's Metal in Orange, California lists each JP part with its VW or Porsche OE number and its JP Group reference, so you can check it against your old part, your parts book or the stamp on the original before you order. If you are not sure whether this part fits your car, send us your year, model, chassis number and engine code and we will check it for you before it ships.
Installation Notes
- Remove the old hose and clean both connection points.
- Fit the hose with new clamps; do not over-tighten on thin necks.
- Route it away from the exhaust and moving parts.
- Check that warm air reaches the cabin.
Use the torque values and procedures in a factory or Bentley service manual for your car.
