Original Factory VW Super Beetle Front Center Kick Panel
Short answer: This is a genuine factory Volkswagen front center kick panel for the 1971–1979 Super Beetle (1302/1303), still wearing its original factory paint. It's straight, solid steel with crisp stamped ribs and the factory grommet still in place, a very nice original part for a correct restoration. Price is for the one panel shown.
Real German steel, not a repro. Reproduction kick panels are stamped from thinner sheet, often with soft ribs and flanges that need trimming to fit. This one came off the Volkswagen line: original gauge steel, factory press lines, factory holes and factory fit. If you're building a correct Super Beetle, original sheet metal in this condition is getting hard to find.
Original paint, honest condition. The panel retains its factory paint across most of the surface. There's light surface rust and patina at the upper corners and around the grommet (see photos) but no rot-through, no holes beyond the factory ones, and no bends. All five stamped stiffening ribs are sharp and the flanged top and bottom edges are straight. Clean it up and use it as-is, or prep and paint to match your car.
