Carbon Fiber Covers for the Washburn Big Windows (11" x 7.75") | VW Beetle Engine Tin
Short answer: These are a pair of hand-made carbon fiber cover panels (BY01-CF) that bolt onto the #BY01 Washburn Windows Large (11" x 7.75") engine tin access frames in place of the steel covers. They fit 1949–1979 VW Beetles that already have the #BY01 frames welded in; the frames are not included.
Already running the #BY01 Big Windows carb access panels and want to lose the weight and finish the engine bay properly? These are the same covers in real carbon fiber. Same openings, same bolt pattern, a good deal lighter, and a show finish under the deck lid.
They bolt straight onto the frames you already welded in. Take the steel covers off, put these on, done. No cutting, no welding, no second set of openings.
Rare and hand-made. These covers are hand-made in Southern California, USA, by the same specialist carbon fiber builder behind our carbon deck lid, hood, fenders, running boards and glove box door. Not mass-produced, and a detail very few engine bays will ever have.
