Short answer: EMPI 00-9737-0 is a single 17x7 BRM-style 5-spoke alloy wheel in all chrome, drilled 5x100 for the 1998–2010 VW New Beetle. EMPI lists it at +40mm offset (5-3/8 in backspacing) with a 60° lug seat. It is not an air-cooled VW wheel: it does not fit any classic Beetle, Ghia, Type 3 or Bus. Sold each, with chrome center cap and chrome valve stem.
Part numbers: EMPI 00-9737-0 · 0097370 · UPC 707924414189
The BRM is the wheel that defined Cal-Look, and EMPI makes this 17-inch all-chrome version for the water-cooled New Beetle. It gives a modern Beetle the same five-spoke look as a classic Bug on BRMs. Order four for a matched set, or one to replace a damaged wheel.

What's Included
- One EMPI BRM 17x7 wheel, 5x100, all chrome
- Chrome center cap and chrome valve stem
Not included: tire, lug hardware and hub-centric rings. EMPI's replacement cap for this wheel is 00-9733-0 (chrome, low, push-on with ring); call us to order one.
Why It Matters
A 60° cone-seat wheel needs 60° cone-seat lug hardware. The seat is the only part of the bolt or nut that clamps the wheel, so the wrong shape touches on a thin ring and can work loose. EMPI specifies its tuner-style 60° hardware for this wheel, and we will match the thread and length to your car before you mount it. The 73mm center bore is a dealer figure; measure your hub, and if the bore is larger than the hub, fit hub-centric rings so the wheel runs true.
Install Notes
- Confirm your car is a 1998–2010 New Beetle with a 5x100 hub before ordering.
- Test-fit before mounting a tire: check caliper, strut and fender clearance.
- Torque to your factory manual or the hardware maker's spec in a star pattern, and re-check after the first 50 miles.
- Chrome care: wash when cool and wax regularly; road salt pits chrome.
