Why It Matters
The EPC 34 is EMPI's modern take on the classic Weber 34 ICT. Compared with the 34 ICT it replaces, it gives improved throttle response, cleaner fuel delivery and better all-around drivability at a friendlier price, and parts interchange.
Installation Notes
- Order two carburetors for a complete dual-carb installation.
- Each carburetor is test-run and adjusted at EMPI.
- Use the appropriate manifolds for your engine (Type 4 manifolds on Bus, Type 4 and 914).
Frequently Asked Questions
Is one carburetor enough?
No — the EPC 34 is sold individually and is designed for dual-carb setups, so you need two for a complete installation.
What engines does the EMPI EPC 34 fit?
Type 1 Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Thing and Type 3 engines, single-port or dual-port, with appropriate manifolds, plus Type 2 Bus, Type 4 and Porsche 914 engines with Type 4 manifolds.
How does it compare to the Weber 34 ICT?
It is a direct equivalent to the Weber 34 ICT with interchangeable parts, and offers improved throttle response and drivability at a friendlier price.
