Short answer: EMPI 00-9732-0 is a single 15x5.5 Riviera 5-spoke alloy wheel, gloss black with polished lip and spokes, in the VW 4x130 (4-lug) pattern with a +17mm offset (3-7/8 in backspacing). It fits the 1968–1979 VW Beetle and Super Beetle, 1967–1974 Karmann Ghia and 1966–1973 Type 3. It takes 60° cone-seat M14x1.5 lug bolts. Sold each, with center cap and valve stem.
Part numbers: EMPI 00-9732-0 · 0097320 · UPC 707924413823
The Riviera is EMPI's modern 5-spoke: a gloss-black face with the spokes and lip machined bright, so it reads clean from across a parking lot and still looks right on a late Bug. Order four for a matched set, or one to replace a damaged wheel.

What's Included
- One EMPI Riviera 15x5.5 wheel, 4x130, gloss black with polished lip and spokes
- Center cap and valve stem
Not included: tire and lug bolts. You need four M14x1.5 60° cone-seat lug bolts per wheel — EMPI 00-9712-0 is a set of four, on our EMPI chrome lug bolt listing. A replacement Riviera cap (EMPI 10-1106-0 tall or 00-9707-0 standard) is on our Sprintstar, 914 & Riviera cap listing.
Why It Matters
Stock 4-lug VW steel wheels use ball-seat bolts. The Riviera uses a 60° cone seat, and a ball-seat bolt in a cone-seat hole only touches on a thin ring and can work loose. Buy the matching 60° bolts with the wheel. The +17mm offset sits the wheel a little further out than a stock steel wheel, which fills the fender nicely on a Beetle without rubbing on stock suspension.
Install Notes
- Confirm your hub is 4x130 before ordering (1968 and later Beetle, 1967 and later Ghia, 1966 and later Type 3).
- Test-fit before mounting a tire: check brake drum or caliper and fender clearance.
- Torque to your factory manual or the bolt maker's spec in a cross pattern, and re-check after the first 50 miles.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Will the EMPI Riviera wheel fit my 1972 Super Beetle? Yes. All 1968–1979 Beetles and Super Beetles use the 4x130 pattern this wheel is drilled for.
- Will it fit my 1965 Beetle? No. Beetles through 1967 use the 5x205 wide-five pattern. See our 5x205 wheel collection.
- Does the Riviera fit a VW Bus? No. The 1950–1970 Bus is 5x205 and the 1971–1979 Bay Bus is 5x112.
- Do these come with lug bolts? No. Each wheel comes with a center cap and valve stem. You need four M14x1.5 60° cone-seat lug bolts per wheel, such as EMPI 00-9712-0 (set of four).
- What is the offset of the Riviera 00-9732-0? +17mm, which is 3-7/8 in of backspacing on this 15x5.5 wheel.
- Is it sold as a set? No, it is sold each. Order four for a full set.
