Mobelwagen 430 Interceptor Wheel — 15 in, 4x130 (4-Lug)
Short answer: The Mobelwagen 430 Interceptor is a one-piece A356 cast aluminum wheel with the classic VW 10-window design, drilled 4x130 for the 1968–1979 VW Beetle, 1971–1979 Super Beetle, 1967–1974 Karmann Ghia, 1966–1973 Type 3 and the 1970–1976 Porsche 914 (914-4). Choose 15x5.5 +20mm or 15x4.5 +25mm in satin silver, polished or gloss black (gunmetal in 15x4.5). It must use 60° conical-seat lug hardware. Sold as a single wheel or a set of 4.
Availability: Special order — ships from our Mobelwagen distributor; we confirm the ship date after you order. These wheels are not stocked on our shelf; every order is placed with the distributor after you check out.
Part numbers: Mobelwagen MW-430S-55530-20 / MW-430S-54530-25 (silver) · MW-430P-55530-20 / MW-430P-54530-25 (polished) · MW-430B-55530-20 / MW-430B-54530-25 (black) · MW-430G-54530-25X (gunmetal). Dealers also print the offset with a plus sign, for example MW-430S-55530+20.
The 430 is the 4-lug version of the Interceptor family; the same wheel in 5x205 is the 520 Interceptor, sold by EMPI as the Vintage 190. Run the 15x4.5 up front and the 15x5.5 at the rear for a staggered look, or a square set of either size.

- Material: A356 cast aluminum, one-piece, laser-engraved Mobelwagen logo (PMB Performance).
- Lug seat: 60° conical seat — the dealer says this wheel must use 60 degree conical seat hardware. Stock VW ball-seat bolts are the wrong shape for it.
- Hubcaps: bolt-on hub cap clips for VW moon hub caps come with the wheel; hub caps are not included.
- Weight: tfs lists 16.00 lb for the polished 15x5.5. Backspacing per Performance Plus Tire; tfs lists 4.00 in for the 15x5.5 and 3.75 in for the gunmetal 15x4.5.
- Gunmetal MW-430G-54530-25X carries an "X" part number and shows sold out at one dealer; we confirm availability before charging for it.
What's Included
- Single wheel, or four wheels with the Set of 4 option
- Bolt-on hub cap clips for VW moon hub caps (per dealer)
Not Included
- Hub caps, tires, valve stems and lug bolts
- TPMS sensors
Why It Matters
The 430 needs 60° conical-seat lug bolts, not the ball-seat bolts a stock VW steel wheel uses. Bolting an alloy wheel on with the wrong seat shape leaves it only touching on a ring, and the bolts can work loose. Buy the matching 60° bolts with the wheels.
Offset decides where the tire sits in the fender. The 15x4.5 +25mm and the 15x5.5 +20mm both keep the tire close to the stock position on a 4-lug car; check fender and brake clearance with your own suspension and tires before mounting.
Install Notes
- Confirm your car is 4x130 (4 lugs) before ordering.
- Test-fit each wheel front and rear on the bare hub before mounting tires (dealer advice: VWs often carry parts from different years).
- Use 60° conical-seat M14x1.5 lug bolts of the correct length; torque in a star pattern and re-check after the first 50 miles.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this wheel in stock? Special order — ships from our Mobelwagen distributor; we confirm the ship date after you order. It is not on our shelf, so we order it from the distributor after you check out and email you the ship date.
- Does the Mobelwagen 430 Interceptor fit a 1972 Super Beetle? Yes. The Super Beetle (1971–1979) is 4x130, the pattern this wheel is drilled for. Test-fit before mounting tires.
- What lug bolts does the 430 Interceptor need? It must use 60° conical-seat hardware. On a 4x130 VW that means M14x1.5 60° lug bolts such as EMPI 00-9712-0; stock ball-seat bolts do not fit this wheel.
- Does it come with a hubcap? No. It comes with bolt-on clips for VW moon hub caps; the hub caps are sold separately.
- What is the backspacing? About 4.04 in on the 15x5.5 +20mm and 3.73 in on the 15x4.5 +25mm, per Performance Plus Tire.
- Will it fit a 1967 Beetle? No. The 1967 Beetle uses the 5x205 wide-five pattern. Look at the 520 Interceptor / Vintage 190 instead.
- Can I buy a set of 4? Yes. Choose "Set of 4" in the Quantity option. Orders of $250 or more ship free in the Lower 48, so a set ships free; orders under $250 pay shipping at checkout.
